Justin Pirzadeh
Prior to Canvas, Justin worked at Silicon Valley Bank for over 13 years. He started his career in the Asset Backed Lending group and then the Life Sciences group, where he ultimately was tapped to help start the fintech vertical. Justin found fintech particularly fascinating as there were unique opportunities to both partner and build tools for fintech companies through SVB’s banking rails.
Justin led deals with many of the first early payment fintech companies - notable companies include Brex and Marqeta. After helping grow the fintech vertical from less than 5% to nearly 35% of SVB’s commercial banking unit GP, he joined Canvas in 2023 to bring his expertise in the sector to investing.
Justin holds a BA in English and Economics from Colgate University.

Justin lives in Menlo park with his partner, two children and German Shepherd.
